Area Instructions
Twice
a week, Tuesday and Friday, we prepare your order fresh at
our commercial USDA kitchen in Newington, VA. We then deliver
the orders to our Distributors
in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Your
order will be delivered to the distributor that is most
convenient for you, and will arrive just hours prior to
your arrival to ensure maximum freshness. For an
additional small fee, we can also deliver your meals to
your home or office.
Because the food is
prepared fresh, it is important that the meals are ordered
in advance, thereby creating the need to have cut-off
dates and times.
Ordering
After
you order, we will start your meal plan as soon
as possible. If you order by 12 noon, EST Monday
your order will begin with pick up Tuesday. If you
order after that time and up until Thursday at 12 noon
your order will begin with pick up Friday.
Changing, stopping and restarting your order is easy.
Call us 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If it is
outside our normal operating hours, you may leave a
message and we'll get right back with you as
soon as possible.
-
All orders
are standing orders unless you specify otherwise. That
means we will deliver
your order each week until you instruct us to stop. To
stop your order, please contact
us by noon 12:00 Monday (EST) to stop your order for
the following week. These deadlines apply to all
changes and stops to existing orders as well.
-
Our
normal hours of operation are 9:00 am until 5:00 pm
(EST) Monday through Friday, and 9:00 am until 12:00
noon on Saturday. (Tuesday and Friday we're open
until 8:00 pm)
-
If you
call outside our hours of operation, please leave a
detailed message including your name, Customer number
(if you have it handy), and a phone number where we
can reach you.
Pick up
Go to your distributor.
Tell the person on duty that you are there to pick up your
Diet-to-Go meals. Since your credit card has already been
billed, there is no need to make a payment at the
distributor. That's it! We have completely removed
you from the food preparation process. That's an important
step in successful weight loss. Pick up time is between 5
to 8 pm (at most
locations), and the meals are guaranteed to be delivered
by 5pm.

The holiday season can bring many food challenges when it comes to sticking with your healthy eating regime. Follow these holiday tips to avoid any unwanted weight gain this holiday season.
Healthy Holiday Eating Tips:
1. Plan ahead
- Identify parties or activities that may challenging
- Brainstorm to develop strategies for potential “food challenging situations.”
- Put some calories “in the bank” and make a plan of what you'll have at the party
2. Avoid overeating
- Try not to arrive “starving.” In general, people tend to eat more when overly hungry. Consider a soup or hot drink before you arrive.
- Get enough sleep. Studies show we eat more when we are tired.
- Bring a dish you feel comfortable eating.
- Fill up on fewer calorie foods. Consider covering your plate with veggies, fruit, lean meats, poultry, fish, and whole grains.
- Avoid foods you think may be problematic for you to choose alternative substitutes.
3. Focus on “eating awareness” techniques
- Try to be fully present while you are eating-“savor the flavor” of your favorite food.
- “Eat the best, save the rest.” Review your options before you get started and make sure to include your favorite foods: pass on those you care least about or can have anytime.
- Think about positioning yourself away from the food; “out of sight out of mind” might work to your advantage!
4. The alcohol factor
- Be aware that alcohol adds empty calories, decreases your resolve and increases your appetite.
- If you plan to drink, allocate the number and budget your calories accordingly.
5. Keep on moving!
- Exercise is a helpful tool to balance calories and relieve stress.
- Consider a walk after dinner.
6. Maintenance is success
- Trying to lose during the holidays may be setting you up to fail.
Remember the holiday season comes once a year; do your best.
